A estrela do Blink-182, Mark Hoppus, falou abertamente sobre sua luta contra pensamentos suicidas.

The 53-year-old punk music star has shared details of his life's journey so far in a new autobiography titled Fahrenheit-182.

While the chart-topping star writes about the incredible highs and achievements he has made in life, he also covers low points - including one period in his career when Blink-182 temporarily broke up in 2005, leaving him so low he considered taking his own life.

PEOPLE shared details of the new memoir, quoting him writing, "When Blink fell apart, I lost everything. I lost my direction, I lost my confidence, I lost my sense of self.

"I didn't know what I was supposed to do or who I was supposed to be. I'd hear one of our songs playing in a store and have to walk out.

"I sank lower and lower. I could tell I was near the bottom when I started finding comfort in the thought of suicide: If it gets bad enough, I can always just kill myself."

Sharing more about his struggle, Hoppus explained that he was able to pull himself through his crisis by seeking professional help.

He revealed, "I started talking to a psychiatrist who put me on medications, which helped a lot. It let me take a breath. It allowed me the space in my own head to say, 'You're being a d**k, Mark. Knock it off.'"
